Rutgers Organic Chemistry Tutor Near Me

Rutgers Organic Chemistry Tutor Near MeA Rutgers organic chemistry tutor near me. Why you should seek him out. Some people have a new interest in organic chemistry at their young age. However, for some it is an acquired taste, so they never take the first step toward pursuing it as a profession. If you're like them, I can only say that there is no reason to despair. You may be of foreign descent, and your distant ancestors did not know what organic chemistry was. It was more than simply a hobby to them. They were passionate about it. That passion could just make you interested in it, too. However, when you became a teenager and discovered the things that you could learn from chemistry classes such as those taught at Rutgers University, you were fascinated by the chemical compounds. What are they? The compound is one of those fundamental building blocks of nature. It is an element or compound that has a crystalline structure. These elements are composed of atoms arranged in a specific pat tern, or arrangement. How are they used?Industrial chemistry concentrates on how these elements are used for different purposes. This field is known for the production of catalysts. One of the most common industrial catalysts is petroleum. Petroleum is produced from oil, of course. But, it can also be produced from coal, natural gas, and other fossil fuels. The fuel additive to petroleum, which can be used to make many products that we use every day, is called phytochemicals. Phytochemicals are plant-based substances that help maintain the quality of our bodies. They can also be used to combat disease, as well as to improve the quality of life. The concept of food, as well as the manufacture of it, were not the same in the past as it is today, because the production of chemical compounds was not a major concern. Today, you have products that are purely manufactured by the use of organic chemistry, because they are made with the compounds we know as phytochemicals. It is a great field, and one that you should continue to pursue if you want to live a healthy lifestyle.

How math develops brain muscles, especially for young children - ALOHA Mind Math

How math develops brain muscles, especially for young children How math develops brain muscles, especially for young children 1 Like How math develops brain muscles, especially for young children Early childhood is when brain growth is at its peak. This offers parents a window of time to foster that cognitive development to its fullest potential. Just like weight-training builds the muscles, mathematical thinking develops the brain. Your muscles must be strained and used to get stronger, but many people fail to understand that much in the same way, your brain requires mental exercise to keep your mental skills and memory at its best. Here, math can be a critical element of cognitive fitness, especially for young developing children. New brain research reveals that through hard work and effort, you can improve your intelligence Today you often hear that it’s “nature” over “nurture,” and that people are either born with math aptitude or not, but research shows that this isn’t true. Differences in mathematics learning can be attributed to the experiences that you have had in life that have helped build the brain connections that allow you to think about complex math problems What does that mean for young students? Offering functional and positive math experiences at younger ages is key to architecting brain connections that can be built upon down the road. Math requires you to create connections and recognize patternsThis type of critical thinking builds the brain’s muscles, which spills over into other facets of life, academic and otherwise. Ever wonder why there is a correlation between music and math… there is part of the answer. Studying math can help to boost overall intelligence by developing important skills such as systematic thinking, problem solving, sequence and pattern recognition, etc. These skills not only make a positive immediate impact on children, but also can serve them well in all future endeavors. So, when you hear parents using phrases like “my child just isn’t a math person” remember: people don’t do math because they are smart, rather, they do math because it makes them smarter. We are all born with an immature brain, so start building math muscles in early childhood when development is so important. ALOHA Mind Math offers both enrichment and supplemental math programs that can foster development and academic performance in young children. Please contact your local center to learn more.

4 Easy And Healthy Breakfast Recipes

4 Easy And Healthy Breakfast Recipes Image via kristineskitchenblog.com Eating breakfast has been shown to improve mental alertness and physical performance and also helps to sustain energy throughout the day. Not only is breakfast vital for the average person to perform at their optimal level, breakfast will aid anyone who is seeking to lose weight or simply sustain a healthier lifestyle. According to Livescience.com, studies found that eating breakfast is likely to improve cognitive function related to memory and test grades. Translation: Eating breakfast is a smart move! In another recent study, people who ate breakfast as their largest meal lost an average of 17.8 pounds over three months. The other participants consumed the same number of total calories per day, but ate most of their calories at dinner, which actually decreases the possibility of weight loss. To kick-start your day the right way, breakfast seems to be the way to go. If you find yourself feeling inconvenienced by having to wake up early to prep breakfast, simply make your morning meal the night before! There are so many recipes, hot and cold, savory and sweet, which you can cook up the night before and simply heat up (or not) right before consuming. Here are some of my absolute favorite healthy breakfast recipes that will totally transform you into a morning person! Mixed Berry Chia Pudding (Serving size: 2) 1 (13.5 ounce) can coconut milk 1 cup mixed berries, fresh or frozen 1/2 cup chia seeds 1 teaspoon cinnamon Pinch of salt Natural sweetener Add all ingredients to a blender and blend well. Divide mixture into airtight jars, cover and let sit in the refrigerator overnight (or for a minimum of three hours). Baked Apple (Serving size: 1) 1 medium-large red apple Cinnamon Flax seed Walnuts Cacao nibs/ sugar-free chocolate chips 2 tablespoons nut butter Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Spray a pan with non-stick coconut oil spray. Simply dice up your apple and sprinkle cinnamon and flax seeds (I sometimes add in hemp hearts or cacao powder as well), toss in some walnuts and bake for 20 minutes. Once cooked, serve in a medium bowl and toss in your nibs/chips and top with a dollop of nut butter. Mix well and enjoy! Whether you consumer a low-carb diet or not, it’s smartest to eat your fruits early on in the day. Not only does this give you more time to burn off the natural sugars, the complex carbohydrates will provide you with tons of energy for the day. Livestrong.com indicates that nut butter (peanut, almond, cashew, etc.) not only tastes good, its good for you. When you include nut butter in your breakfast, you fuel your body with fiber, protein and healthy fats to satisfy you until lunchtime. However, be sure to purchase natural nut butter, with ingredients composing of little more than the actual nuts. Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Protein Pancakes (Serving size: 2) 1 scoop vanilla protein powder 3/4 cup liquid egg whites 1/4 cup nut butter 2 tablespoons unsweetened almond milk 1 tablespoon sugar-free mini chocolate chips Toppings (optional): maple syrup, Justin’s ® Peanut Butter Cup Combine protein powder, egg whites, peanut butter, and almond milk in a blender. Blend until smooth. Stir in chocolate chips. Heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Grease the pan with coconut oil or ghee and pour in 1/4 cup batter (it will be thin). Cook until bubbles form on surface and edges are slightly golden, then flip to cook other side. Continue with remaining batter. Serve pancakes warm with toppings of choice. So you may be noticing a bit of a trend here. You can actually eat dessert for breakfast. Some research suggests eating a little something sweet in the morning can help curb sweet tooth cravings later on. A 2012 study found that people who were eating a low calorie diet and healthy sweet breakfasts experienced more weight loss results. They reported having fewer cravings and feeling less hungry throughout the day. Make-Ahead Breakfast Muffins (Serving size: 6 muffins) Image via iowagirleats.com 1 bell pepper 1 onion 4 little cherry tomatoes/one normal tomato 6 Eggs A good pinch of salt Muffin tin 2 slices cheese Handful spinach/green leaves 3 splashes of hot sauce or curry powder Muffin/baking cups (only if you dont have a nonstick muffin tin) Preheat the oven to 390 °F Wash and dice the pepper, onions and tomatoes and put them in a large mixing bowl. Add the eggs and salt and mix well. Optional: add some hot sauce or curry powder if you like an extra kick. Grease the muffin tin and pour the egg mixture evenly into the muffin slots. If you think they might still stick to the pan use some muffin cups definitely saves time on doing the washing up! If you’re a cheese lover like me, a bit won’t hinder your healthy eating goals! Feel free to layer some cheese over the top of each muffin before they go in or mix the cheese into the batter. Set the tray into the oven for 15-18 minutes. Serve immediately or refrigerate for tomorrow’s breakfast, or as a post-workout snack in the future. Serve chilled or warmed with toppings like unsweetened coconut flakes, almonds or additional berries. Drizzle with honey or maple syrup on top. Leftover pudding can be kept in the fridge for 2-3 days.

2018 Career Interest Survey Gen Z Preferences Will Allow Introverts to Thrive in New Workplace Culture - Introvert Whisperer

Introvert Whisperer / 2018 Career Interest Survey Gen Z Preferences Will Allow Introverts to Thrive in New Workplace Culture - Introvert Whisperer 2018 Career Interest Survey: Gen Z Preferences Will Allow Introverts to Thrive in New Workplace Culture Introverts are an asset to any workplace, with their tendency to observe others and listen more intently to their colleagues, employers, and employees. However, sometimes introversion can make working with others more taxing, especially when workplace culture has historically celebrated extroversion. In the past, it seemed extroverts were rewarded most in work culture, especially when society’s idea of leadership meant being loud, opinionated, and ‘charismatic’. However, the tides have changed, especially since the use of technology has allowed people to connect in new ways and applauded the skills of people who would rather focus on their own computer most of the work day than spend every hour in face-to-face meetings. Good news! As it turns out, Generation Z’s preferences as the incoming workforce point to a more comfortable world for the introvert. 2018 Career Interest Survey The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) offers current research on Generation Z (the generation born between 1996 and 2004) in its 2018 Career Interest Survey. NSHSS has partnered with Hanover Research to produce this study every year since 2015 and gauge the preferences of the most recent incoming workforce. 2018’s study reflects the preferences of over 16,000 ethnically diverse high school and college-aged individuals, representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories of Guam, American Samoa, Micronesia, Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Though the study is focused on Gen Z individuals specifically, the preferences found within the study point to a more introvert-friendly workplace culture for all. Meaningful Careers According to the survey, most Gen Z individuals are seeking careers that are not just lucrative but also meaningful. This group of young people demonstrates an interest in social justice and a high-level awareness of issues affecting equality and diversity. An incoming civic-minded workforce will inevitably lead to a fairer and more sensitive workplace based on all kinds of differences between individuals, from race, gender, and sexual orientation to personality traits like introversion and high sensitivity. The more aware the incoming workforce becomes, the more aware employers will have to become in turn to entice them. Work/Life Balance Generation Z preferences demonstrate a commitment to work/life balance and a fulfilling workplace. With the majority of incoming employees expecting fair benefits and vacation time built into their employment plan, employers will need to adapt the culture of their companies if they have not already. Since Generation Z employees report that they are willing to leave a job if it does not meet their standards, employers risk their employees quitting too frequently if they do not listen to these preferences. Though current employees and leaders are already working toward better work/life balance in many circumstances, sometimes a shift in workplace culture is easier to make when new employees come in with their own set of expectations. Introverts can band together with newer employees to support a balanced and enjoyable culture. Moreover, introverted leaders will have the opportunity to tailor their workplace and leadership style to a group committed to enjoying life while also working hard. Focus on STEM-Related Fields Though of course introverts have varying interests and career preferences, the best careers for introverts often allow for less face-to-face time, more solitary work time, and certainly fewer situations in which leading a meeting becomes absolutely necessary. With technology at the forefront of today’s society, introverts are in luck. As the NSHSS 2018 Career Interest Survey demonstrates, members of Generation Z are being encouraged more and more to enter STEM-related fields like engineering and the sciences, and the majority already want to enter the medical or health-related fields. Although all careers will require interaction with others, careers in the sciences and technology-based fields like computer programming allow for more time spent working independently, which will allow introverts time to recharge between meetings. For the rest of the workforce, the trend toward STEM-related jobs suggests that technology is ushering in a type of workplace that promotes high-level focus and independent work just as much as face-to-face interaction. ______ So introverted employees, take heart. A new group will be entering the workforce in the coming years to steer the trend toward a more balanced, meaningful, sensitive, and independent workplace. If your workplace is already like that great! If not, perhaps these trends might come to your office along with some of the Gen Z employees. Ask an MBA Admissions Expert Betsy Massar

Ask an MBA Admissions Expert Betsy Massar Varsity Tutors brings you insider tips and advice straight from nationally recognized admissions experts. Betsy Massar has been helping MBA candidates with their business school applications since she was a second-year student at Harvard Business School. She founded her consulting business, Master Admissions, in 2008 and also serves as a resum and writing coach at the StanfordGraduate School of Business. Betsy has been quoted vastly throughout the media in publications such as Forbes, Fox Business News, and Poets Quants. VT: How much time should be set aside to adequately prepare for and complete the application for anMBAprogram? Betsy: Applicants should start as early as possible to wrap their brains around the fact that they are competing for a spot at a top business school. Theres a lot to do! You have to study months for the GMAT, spend time and energy figuring out which programs appeal most, travel to see campuses, cold-call alumni, and corral at least two, maybe three people senior to you to write thoughtful, specific recommendations about your excellence. To add to the indignity of it all, you have to write a set of personal, soul-wrenching essays that inspire admissions directors to pick you over the other potential Nobel Prize winners vying for your spot. Its a head trip. Having said this, I just learned today about a student who got into MIT Sloan off the waiting list who literally threw an application together in a few weeks. Stranger things have happened, but I dont recommend her high-risk strategy. VT: What would you say is the single most important thing to focus on for this kind of application? Betsy: Take the process seriously. But dont take yourself too seriously. VT: What doMBAadmissionsofficers look for most in the essayquestions? Betsy: MBA schools look for authenticity. That means being yourself. Not the person you think the committee wants to read about that person is nowhere near as interesting as the real you. Admissions officers want to read about your successes and foibles. They want you to present your case with maturity, humility, and humanity. Admissions officers act as proxies for your future classmates. Those classmates want to sit next to, or work on a learning team with, someone who can really contribute to the party. They want people who know how to pull their own weight, compete on a very big stage, and make a difference in the world. And also people who are talented, fun and funny. You may be thinking, oh, I am just another cookie-cutter engineer/investment analyst/consultant/IT specialist. But you arent. You are you, the real you. The more authentic you that shows in your application, the better your chances. VT: What are the biggest mistakes one can make on this application? Betsy: The biggest single mistake is to bore the reader to death through platitudes and unsubstantiated claims. If an application sounds like it was downloaded from a collection of Essays that Succeeded, its all over. VT: Is there anything that automatically disqualifies an applicant from being considered for anMBAprogram (i.e. low GPA, lack of particular work experience, etc.)? Betsy: Like in tennis, you have to get the ball over the net. Almost every business school publishes a class profile which gives a range of stats about grades, test scores, years of work experience, and more. Students should fall within that range---which is a bit of a dotted line---its not hard and fast, depending on your profile. Still, I do hear about people thinking they can get in on guts alone, and thats a bit delusional. VT: What kind of work experiences should be highlighted in theMBAapplication? Betsy: You dont have that much room in applications these days, so you should highlight work experiences that demonstrate your emotional intelligence, such as teamwork or ability to influence a group. Other emotional IQ characteristics might include flexibility, resiliency, and empathy. VT: What advice do you have regarding GMAT prep? Betsy: Invest the time and money to take a course or get a tutor who works for your learning style. VT: Is it absolutely necessary to have work experience prior to starting anMBAdegree? Betsy: Yes. VT: What are the characteristics of a greatMBAprogram? Betsy: Almost every top business school offers the following great characteristics: incredibly smart, talented, international students and faculty, a great alumni network, good job placement, and wonderful facilities. The more important question is, what is great for you? You might want to live on a rural campus and I might want to live in the heart of a big city. You might want to work in London after graduation and I might want to work in Silicon Valley You might have gone to a small undergraduate school and want a big university environment for graduate school and I might want the opposite. There are so many variables! The important thing is to figure out what is important to you, not your parents, boyfriend/girlfriend, second-grade teacher, Mark Zuckerberg, or some guy who publishes ranking statistics. Its about knowing yourself and what works for you. Otherwise, why spend the $150,000? For more information, visit MasterAdmissions.com.
